Privacy Policy
IN SHORT
- BlueArgos asks for no account, no name, no email, no phone number. There is no sign-up at all.
- Location is used entirely on your device to decide when to warn you. Your route is never sent anywhere.
- In limited cases — such as driving over the speed limit despite a warning — a diagnostic record of that spot is sent automatically. Section 2 spells this out.
- No ads, no advertising identifiers, no tracking SDKs.
1. Information that never leaves your device
Speed camera warnings — the core of the app — are decided entirely on your device. BlueArgos downloads a speed camera database ahead of time, stores it locally, and compares your GPS position against it as you drive.
- Location (GPS) — current position, speed and heading. Used to decide warnings and draw the screen.
- Barometer readings — used to tell overpasses and underpasses apart, which reduces false warnings.
- Compass heading — used to determine the direction of travel.
This information stays in device memory while you drive and is never transmitted; it is gone when the app closes. The app does not store your route or travel history on the device either.
2. Information sent automatically
Public speed camera data contains errors. A camera facing the opposite carriageway may trigger a warning, or a camera beneath an overpass may be picked up from the road above. To find and correct these bad warnings, a diagnostic record is sent automatically — but only under the limited conditions below.
When a record is sent
- Warning ignored — passing a camera above the speed limit after being warned, seen repeatedly at the same spot.
- Warning withdrawn — the app raising a warning and then cancelling it itself, seen repeatedly at the same spot.
Once a record has been sent for a camera, nothing further is sent for that camera until the camera database on your device is replaced by a new version. Restarting the app does not reset this. Transmission happens once, shortly after the app starts.
What the record contains

Only one record is sent per camera and nothing is sent afterwards, so no continuous journey can be reconstructed.
What is never sent
- Your route or travel history
- A one-off instance of speeding, or any pass within the limit
- GPS accuracy, device model, operating system version
- Name, email, phone number, account details — none of which are collected in the first place
- Contacts, photos, call logs, list of installed apps
3. Why this is collected
Records described in section 2 are used solely so that a person can check whether a camera warning is genuinely wrong. Neither the app nor the server makes any automatic decision from them, and no camera data is changed automatically. Any correction follows a human checking the location.
These records are never used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. Retention and deletion
- On-device information — held in memory while driving and discarded when the app closes. Your settings and the downloaded camera database remain on the device and are removed when you uninstall the app.
- Transmitted records — kept for as long as needed to investigate incorrect warnings, then deleted. Records are stored append-only.
5. Processors
Records described in section 2 are stored on infrastructure operated by:

6. Permissions the app requests

7. Advertising and tracking
BlueArgos carries no advertising. It does not read advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA), and contains no analytics or tracking SDKs. It does not collect usage behaviour.
This website, however, uses Google Analytics to count visitors. That applies to the website only and has nothing to do with the app.
8. Your rights
Because there are no accounts and no identifying information is collected, it is generally not possible to trace a transmitted record back to a particular person. If you nevertheless want records from your device deleted, write to the address below and records sent from that device will be located and removed.
If you would rather nothing were transmitted at all, block the app's network access in your device settings. Camera data updates will stop as well.
9. Children
BlueArgos is made for drivers and is not directed at children under 14. No information is knowingly collected from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the change and its effective date will appear on this page. Significant changes, such as collecting anything additional, will also be announced inside the app.
